Job Summary:

In this role, you will work alongside the Energy Global Business Unit (Energy GBU) Ethics and Compliance Officer to implement the Bechtel ethics and compliance program and related activities within the Energy GBU.  

This is a full-time position designated as part-time telework (hybrid) per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office.  Work-related travel will count towards your in-office requirement. Weekly in-person schedules will be based on various work-flows and determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.  #LI-AA1 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide employees with guidance related to prospective compliance decision-making and answer questions about Bechtel’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support employees who wish to report potential violations of the Bechtel standards of conduct.
  • Manage BEO and Bantrel ethics and compliance needs.
  • Assist business colleagues with the completion of various due diligence requirements within the Energy GBU.
  • Maintain an effective communication program for the organization to heighten awareness of ethics and compliance concerns.
  • Collaborate with investigators and HR personnel related to suspected violations of the corporation's ethical standards, applicable regulations and corporate policy issues.
  • Draft, coordinate, and present ethics and compliance training.
  • Develop, test, and publish new compliance training courses.
  • Oversee the implementation or revision of policies and procedures to cover compliance risk areas.
  • Performs additional tasks and duties at the request of the Energy Global Business Unit (GBU) Ethics and Compliance Officer.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and present analytical results accurately and make recommendations for action.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Must possess a valid passport and be prepared to travel on an "as needed" basis.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data and information gathered to support investigative findings.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels in the company.
  • Mastery of investigative methods to provide analytical and technical support for the planning and execution of an investigation.
  • Experience with Navex or similar tool and using Navex to create any requested report.
  • Flexible team player willing to accept new challenges and assignments based on needs of the department and the business.
  • Detail oriented with ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive material.
  • Must be highly credible and not afraid to express his or her opinions.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and establishing priorities with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Proactive and independent worker, with ability to balance a large and complex case load under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current or previous ethics and compliance managerial experience.
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics and Professional (CCEP) certification a plus.
