Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Emergency Department

Where You Will Work:
The Brenner Pediatric Emergency department is composed of 24 beds with two of those being our dedicated Trauma Bays. The emergency department specializes in treating children up to age of 17 with a broad spectrum of illness and injuries including orthopedic, respiratory, cardiac, chronic illness, abuse, psychiatric care and of course trauma. We became a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in 2011 and have continuously upheld this Credential. We see approximately 600 plus traumas including burn activations a year in the department as we are also a dedicated Burn center. We offer a robust trauma program to our nursing staff that includes a trauma bootcamp, trauma team lead course, Trauma Nursing Core Course, and quarterly trauma simulations to ensure our staff have adequate training and knowledge to provide the upmost care to our community. We also have a growing SANE team that is available or on call to provide care to abused children. We pride ourselves on offering extraordinary and ever evolving care to our pediatric population while encouraging and providing areas of ongoing growth to our nursing staff. Expectations We're Looking For:
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
  • 2 years of ED experience preferred

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
