At the present time, a vacancy for a part-time Cafeteria Worker exists within the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position is based in our Community Based program supporting the County Cup. The CCIU is a dynamic educational service agency providing quality, innovative and cost-effective programs and services to enhance the lives of students, educators and members of our communities.
The CCIU provides services to the 12 school districts in Chester County. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The Chester County Intermediate Unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in Pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the Pennsylvania State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required prior to hire
  • PA school personnel health form required prior to hire
  • Must be able to lift between 20 to 35 lbs. consistently on a daily basis and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Valid driver's license prefered


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation and serving of quantity and quality food and to observe all methods of portion control in both preparation and serving then record on production sheet.
  • Participate with reheating foods in microwaves and other devices.
  • Follow HACCP (Food Safety Plan) procedures, maintain sanitary conditions and complete necessary recording of all temperatures, etc.
  • Operate a point of sale (P.O.S.) computerized screen, counts money, complete deposit slips and associated paperwork as needed.
  • Responsible for limited food purchasing.  Follow proper procedures for receiving and storing all food and supplies.
  • Able to lift between 20 to 35 lbs. consistently on a daily basis and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.


2026-2027 Rates:

  • $15.29 - $16.37 per hour based on experience in a similar position
