Park Place of St. John, an Independent Living Community, located in St. John, IN is seeking a Concierge, Part Time. Park Place of St. John is a member of the Providence Life Services family where we are committed to enhancing the lives of those we serve!


Schedule and Shift Hours: Must be able to work EVERY Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30PM-10:00PM. Opportunity to pick-up open and available shifts when needs arise. Double time pay on observed holidays.


Summary of essential job functions:

  • The purpose of this position is to operate the telephone system, greet visitors, direct visitors to appropriate resident rooms/common areas, assist with administrative duties including but not limited to sorting mail, maintaining excel format spreadsheets, entering work orders for environmental services department, respond to resident requests, and deliver packages.
  • Must be able to remain calm and respond to resident needs.
  • May require calling 911 on behalf of a resident, stay with the resident until paramedics arrive and maintain record of which hospital the resident is transported to.
  • The receptionist must maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident rights are protected.
  • Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with the elderly, other personnel, family members and visitors.
  • Candidate must have patience, enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition and possess the ability to maintain a calm environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of Receptionist or Concierge experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with the senior population preferred but not essential.
  • Comprehensive training will be provided to the suitable candidate.
  • Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and complete the orientation program.
