Job Summary
Perform clerical tasks in support of the Coordinator of Veteran & Military Services, AVP of Enrollment Management and other professional staff in The Academic Success Center (TASC), including typing, filing, intakes of veteran files, compiling information for reports, placing and returning calls, and scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, updating, and preparing department correspondences and enrollment information in relation to veteran and other first-year students in TASC.
Develop and update veteran student material such as emails, letters, and flyers using various computer programs. Update and maintain student correspondence throughout the year and connect students to faculty and campus personnel.
Assist with organizing and participating in special advisement-related projects throughout the year for veteran and non-veteran students. Responsible for making room arrangements, preparing all necessary materials and supplies needed.
Coordinate and communicate with external community veteran groups to ensure Veteran students are informed of events and opportunities within CCM Veteran Center.
Provide evening coverage twice a week for the department. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Education
Education: High School Diploma. Associate degree preferred, but not required.
Qualifications - Experience
A minimum of two (2) years in an office environment.
Qualifications - Skills
Detail oriented and organized. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat PDF files. Flexible, pleasant telephone manner, patient, and comfortable working with all students, their families, and college faculty and staff. Can work independently and in a team environment. Able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Previous experience working with the veteran community a plus.
Work Hours
Monday - Thursday - 9am to 3pm although hours may vary.
