VACANCY FOR COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST
(12 MONTHS)
Normal Work Day: 8.5 hours (7.5 paid work hours and 1-hour unpaid lunch time)
Reports to: Director of Technology and Building Principal
Benefits: Insurance (health, life, and dental) paid by district
Location: District
Salary: $20.00 per hour
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School Graduate
  2. Associate degree or completion of 60 college credit hours or Paraprofessional certification required
  3. Microsoft Windows and Office experience
  4. Google Chrome/Apps & Apple iOS experience preferred
  5. Software installation experience required
  6. Hardware troubleshooting and repair experience required
  7. Excellent communication and people skills required
  8. Experience in an Educational environment
  9. Experience with computer-related account management procedures preferred
  10. Physical work required must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders
  11. A forward leaning mindset with ability to anticipate the need of staff and technology preventive maintenance before and issue arises. Being proactive instead of reactive in this role is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Maintain accurate building hardware and software inventories.
  2. Assist students with Chromebook repairs and keeping repair records up to date.
  3. Work with other Computer Support Specialists as a "team" to complete building tasks.
  4. Assist teachers and staff members with computer use as requested through the help desk request system.
  5. Assist building staff with use of student management software and grading programs.
  6. Create and help administer Internet Safety program for all students.
  7. Load software as needed on lab and classroom computers.
  8. Conduct troubleshooting and repair technology-related devices and equipment via the district help desk request system.
  9. Maintain accurate repair records on district equipment in the help desk request system.
  10. Report to building administrator and Director of Technology any violations of the acceptable use policies or failure of teachers to adequately and properly supervise students in the computer lab.
  11. Facilitate technology training for building staff as needed.
  12. Participate in professional development as requested by the Director of Technology.
  13. Clean, maintain and organize technology equipment throughout the building, including the computer lab, portable carts, data closets, storage areas, classrooms and wire management.
  14. Complete beginning-of-year checklist to ensure that all technology equipment is ready for school.
  15. Complete end-of-year checklist to ensure all technology equipment is accounted for and stored for summer.
  16. Must meet required deadlines for assigned tasks.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Director of Technology and IT Operations Supervisor.
