Overview

Operates multi-passenger specialized vehicle to transport residents to services within community.

Responsibilities
  • Operate vehicles with specialized equipment, such as wheelchair lifts to transport and secure passengers with special needs.
  • Drive multi-passenger vehicles to transport residents between Village and destination such as appointments, shopping areas, Village sponsored
  • Communicate with the community by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger
  • Pick up or meet residents according to requests, appointments, or
  • Assist residents on and off bus, ensure they are seated properly, and help carry
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations, using telephones or mobile two-way
  • Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous
  • Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working Vacuum and clean interiors, and wash and polish exteriors of vehicles. Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Record information on trip sheets, along with trip information such as time and place of pickup and drop-off. Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and fuel
  • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill
  • Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to:Presbyterian Villages policies and Safety policies and Federal, state and local
  • All other duties as assigned
