Description: Ellington Public Schools is seeking applications for a part-time administrative assistant at Center School. This is an elementary school office clerical position, which supports the full time administrative assistant and the building administration. This position will work in the morning, Monday-Fridays each day school is in session. Hours are 8:00 am-12:00 pm, rate of pay is $19.82/hr.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Meet the needs of parents, teachers, staff, and students who contact the office for assistance in person, by phone, or via email
  • Greet and ensure safe entry and exit of building visitors during the school day (including signing them in and out of the RAPTOR security program)
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies in the building
  • Assist administrative assistant with overflow work.
  • Coordinate and schedule school meetings with families
  • Coordinate and schedule administrative meetings with families
  • Coordinate and schedule Lead Teacher meetings with families
  • Collaborate to schedule and coordinate PPT and 504 meetings

Qualifications: Must have excellent computer skills; knowledge of Word and Excel a must. Experience with Google Suite preferred. Must have good organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work to deadlines. Confidentiality is critical. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires constant communications with staff, students, and the community. Minimum of high school diploma required. The successful candidate will be required to submit to a state and national criminal history check, as well as a DCF review as is required by the State of CT.
