Job description

The Westerner in West Valley City, UT is looking to hire a part-time Barback to support our bartenders by cleaning, washing glasses, restocking, and assisting with anything else as needed. We first opened our doors in 1962 as Salt Lake City's original country dance hall, bar, and grill! Over the years, our stage has been home to well-known artists from Brad Paisley and George Jones to Rascal Flatts and The Dixie Chicks. Whether our clients are looking for good music, good food, or a good time, they can always find it with us! Our multifunctional design creates fun nights filled with live music, free mechanical bull rides, pool tables, line dance lessons, couple dance lessons, a karaoke room, and more! A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BARBACK

As a Barback, you are the lifeblood of our bar! You support our bartending system and ensure that our bartenders have everything they need to be successful in their position. It's important that you are able to be proactive and anticipate our bartenders' needs in a fast-paced environment. You wash glassware, help dispense beer, and restock supplies as needed. You also help with cleaning around the area, keeping our bar organized and neat. We train our barbacks to be future bartenders, so there is plenty of room for advancement! You feel good about using your cleaning and service skills to keep our bar fun, safe, and functional for everyone!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BARBACK

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to acquire Utah Alcohol Server training card and Salt Lake County Health Department Food Handler's Permit within 14 days of hire
