Essential Job Duties
The Audio Visual/Classroom Support Analyst provides consultation, programming, integration, and support for classroom and A/V technologies across the Division of Academic and Student Affairs (DASA). Serves as a subject matter expert in control systems, instructional technology, and multimedia environments while supporting faculty, staff, and enterprise classroom operations.
A/V Systems Programming and Integration
  • Programming and configuration of controller devices (Extron, Crestron, Biamp)
  • Integration of classroom technologies (control systems, projection, audio systems, conferencing tools)
  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of A/V systems
  • Cabling design and implementation for classroom technology
  • Staying current with emerging classroom and A/V technologies

Classroom Technology Support and Operations
  • Primary support for A/V, conferencing, and multimedia systems
  • Maintenance of classroom and teaching space technology
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and integrated systems
  • Supporting digital signage and shared technology spaces

Project Management and Implementation
  • Oversight of lifecycle replacements and upgrade projects
  • Coordination of new room builds and system integrations
  • Managing in-place configuration changes and software updates
  • Collaborating with third-party vendors and internal teams

Instructional Support and Consultation
  • Providing technical consultation to faculty and staff
  • Supporting instructional operations and e-learning technologies
  • Delivering training on classroom systems and tools

Event, Streaming and Multimedia Support
  • Supporting seminars, live streams, and studio recordings
  • Managing A/V needs for special events and academic activities

Endpoint and General IT Support
  • Supporting desktop/laptop systems, operating systems, and applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Assisting with networking issues in classroom and shared spaces
  • Providing broad technical troubleshooting across supported environments

Customer Support and Incident Management
  • Managing service tickets and responding to user requests
  • Communicating with stakeholders and ensuring issue resolution
  • Providing timely and effective customer service

Documentation and Vendor Coordination
  • Documenting room configurations and system programming
  • Creating end-user instructional materials
  • Acting as liaison between DASA Technology and A/V vendors

Other Responsibilities
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree; or Bachelor's degree with zero - two years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Other Required Qualifications
  • Basic troubleshooting skills needed to provide local support of classroom technology.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting a variety of multimedia equipment including, but not limited to: projectors and LCD TVs, document cameras, av control systems, cameras, av bridge components, lecture capture, and audio systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of clients and coworkers.
  • Ability to create documentation of room configurations and equipment programming, as well as end user instructional materials.
  • Desktop support experience, including imaging computers, troubleshooting software installations, and MS Office support.
  • Support of AV systems, and their connected components. Working knowledge of av bridge solutions, and lecture capture fundamentals.
  • Ability to set his/her own priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Proven ability to learn technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting TCP/IP networking issues.
  • Prior experience in end-user training and documentation preparation.
  • Experience with Crestron control systems and a call tracking system like ServiceNow.
  • Extron A/V Associates Certification, CTS certification.
  • Experience with Extron or Crestron A/V components, lecture capture, and conferencing technologies such as Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, Polycom, or Skype.
  • Experience working in Higher education with an emphasis in a research environment.
  • Demonstrated vendor engagement experience.
