What You'll Do
  • Develop and grow a territory focused on State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) customers.
  • Generate new business opportunities while expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Identify, qualify, and close technology solutions opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and onsite visits to understand business objectives and technology needs.
  • Partner with pre-sales engineers to deliver solutions across:
    • Cybersecurity
    • Networking & Wireless
    • Collaboration
    • Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
    • Data Center Technologies
  • Pursue E-rate, SLED, and public sector technology initiatives within your territory.
  • Maintain sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and market intelligence.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendor partners to drive successful outcomes.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales goals.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience selling IT solutions.
  • Experience representing major technology manufacturers such as Cisco, Microsoft, HPE, Dell, VMware, NetApp, Palo Alto, Crestron, or similar.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and managing customer relationships.
  • Experience selling into SLED organizations preferred.
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented professional.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout an assigned territory.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will stand out:
  • Established relationships within the SLED community in your territory.
  • Existing network of public sector decision-makers and influencers.
  • Cisco sales certifications, including Cisco Certified Sales Expert (CCSE).
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and growing market share.

Compensation
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $75,000 - $250,000+
OTE consists of a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission, allowing top performers to significantly exceed target earnings.
