ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

For 35 years, Global Arts Live has been a leading force in bringing exceptional global music and dance to stages across Greater Boston. We aspire to transcend borders, cultivate community, and enrich lives through cultural diversity and artistic expression. To date, we have presented more than 800 artists from over 70 countries, performing in over 1,500 events attended by more than 1 million people.

In Fall 2026, Global Arts Live will launch The Platform, a new performing arts center, in partnership with real estate developer BioMed Realty. Located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA, The Platform is part of the 585 Kendall Street building, which will also function as the new R&D headquarters for global pharmaceutical company Takeda.

The Platform features the 400+seat state-of-the-art Takeda Theater at The Platform, the Tempo Stage at The Platform with flexible seating for 125 anchoring the first-floor commons, two bars, a café, and a rehearsal studio. The Platform is dedicated to supporting artists and nonprofits, work that expands our perspectives, and providing a hub for culture, connection, and conversation.

AUDIENCE SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE JOB OVERVIEW

Global Arts Live + The Platform are seeking Audience Services Representatives to serve as the primary point of contact for ticketing patrons. Working under the guidance of the Audience Services Director, Coordinator, and Assistant, this role plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer service for Global Arts Live events across multiple venues in Greater Boston, as well as for rental events at our new performing arts center, The Platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process ticket sales during regular business hours and during performances via phone and in person
  • Distribute Will Call tickets during performances
  • Assist patrons with ticketing and event questions for Global Arts Live and renter events at The Platform
  • Direct phone inquiries to the appropriate departments as needed
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to all patrons
  • Assist with all Box Office related mailings including tickets, brochures, and gift certificates
  • Represent Global Arts Live Box Office at presenting venues as needed
  • Update database with outside patron information as needed in a timely manner
  • Assist as needed with cross-departmental projects including but not limited to special events, donor receptions, and rehearsal studio rentals.

  • Prior experience in box office and/or customer service preferred
  • Experience working in a database, ticketing system, and/or CRM is a plus (Tessitura preferred)
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work quickly in a fun fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed by event schedule

HOURS

  • Beginning in September 2026 The Platform box office hours will be Tuesday through Friday 12PM-6PM
  • During the performance season (September–June), evening and weekend shifts are required, beginning two hours prior to the first scheduled performance of the day (guaranteed minimum of three hours per shift).
  • Minimum weekly commitment of 6 hours is required

COMPENSATION

These are part-time hourly positions with a rate of $20/hour
