Role description:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, with a strong background in the water-wastewater industry, to join our Resilience Water team in the Northeast.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services for various projects, with a focus on electrical power distribution, electrical controls, lighting, fire alarm, access control, and communications, to support the Water Division.
Role accountabilities:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities, serving as Arcadis' main point of contact with our clients for their electrical needs. Development of project management skills, including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope, schedule, and budget. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
  • Performing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information).
  • Conducting field inspections, assisting with projects in construction, which includes identifying deviations from design, and monitoring safety compliance.

Some travel may be required to support project needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Prior demonstrated consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities a must.
  • Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D), Revit, SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study.
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Willingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers.
  • Excellent customer/client service skills along with clear and concise, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)

Arcadis offers benefits for full-time and part-time positions.
