Job Summary
Newport Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 139-bed facility located in the heart of Lancaster County, is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our team of Healthcare Heroes! As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in facilitating group and individual activities, such as exercise, trivia, games, and art, to enhance the lives of our elderly residents.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group and individual activities, including exercise, trivia, games, and art, to promote resident engagement and well-being
  • Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities that align with their interests and abilities
  • Work independently with limited supervision at times and effectively as a team member
  • Escort residents on outings as needed
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect towards residents, considering their specific clinical level of function
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity planning

Ideal Candidate
  • Has a passion for working with the elderly and understands their needs
  • Possesses a positive and optimistic attitude that uplifts the spirits of our residents
  • Is able to work flexible schedules and be available for outings

Requirements
  • Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, but we will train the right candidate
  • Bilingual speaking is a plus
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring residents
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
