About the Team
Capital One is integrating its travel infrastructure with Brex to build a compelling product for the mid-market and eventually win at the top of the enterprise business travel market. As the Product Manager for the COBT integration with Brex, you will lead technical execution of key product parity improvements and be highly involved in the integrations across Brex customers, expense management, and Capital One Business Travel.
A core focus within the role is the data integration and policy controls that ensure transactions are compliant, seamless, and achieve product parity with industry leaders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Backend Technical Leadership:Lead technical, backend-heavy product work to manage deep-tier API integrations and data mapping between Capital One and Brex.
  • Data Integration & Flow:Own the end-to-end process of flowing complex booking data from Capital One systems into the Brex expense management tool.
  • Payments Product Parity:Systematically bridge the gap to match competitor features, with a specific focus on payment reconciliation and multi-modal bookings like trains.
  • Policy & Control Architecture:Build and refine the backend logic for enforcing corporate travel policies (e.g., spending limits, preferred vendors) during the booking process.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Partnership: Act as the primary liaison between business strategy and engineering teams to translate complex data requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.

Who You Are
You are a highly technical Product Manager who excels in data-intensive environments and prefers building the "guts" of a platform.
Qualifications
  • Experience:Proven track record in Data Product or Platform PM roles.
  • Technical Core:Comfortable navigating complex data requirements, system architectures, and backend-heavy technical work.
  • Fintech & Payments Knowledge:Prior experience in payments, expense management, or fintech is a significant advantage.
  • Strategic Execution: Ability to manage and prioritize large-scale requirements based on technical feasibility and long-term business impact.

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Product Management
New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
