Job description

About Pareto
Humanity is in a virtuous cycle: human insight improves AI, and better AI expands what people can do. Sustaining it depends on the one input that can't be automated: expert human judgment.
At Pareto, we build the platform that turns that judgment into the data, evals, and RL environments frontier models learn from. We work with leading frontier labs like Anthropic and GDM, and we give skilled people everywhere a way to shape the future of AI and share in what it creates.
This RL environment and human-data infrastructure is already in production. Our job now is to scale it.
About This Role
The office runs well because someone owns it. That's this role. You'll manage the physical experience of Pareto's San Francisco office. Common areas, kitchen, supplies, the small things that add up when nobody's watching them.
This is part-time, 10 hours a week across at least 3 days. The schedule is flexible. We're looking for someone who wants consistent, long-term work, not a temporary arrangement.
What You'll Own
  • Office environment. Keep common areas clean and organized. Handle incoming packages and deliveries. Catch maintenance issues before they become problems.
  • Kitchen and coffee station. Own the kitchen end-to-end. Inventory, restocking, appliances, daily organization. Coffee station should be ready before the team is.
  • Supply management. Regular inventory walkthroughs. Restock requests go in early, before things actually run out.
  • Errands. Occasional off-site runs for mail, packages, and local pickups.
  • Office events. Available to support team gatherings and in-office events when needed.

What We're Looking For
  • You show up consistently. The team depends on the space being ready. That starts with you.
  • You notice things. A low paper towel roll, a broken chair, a package left in the lobby. You catch it before someone else does.
  • You work well independently. Most of this role is self-directed. You don't need a daily checklist to know what needs doing.
  • You're comfortable around people. The office is busy. That's fine with you.
  • You want something steady. This isn't a gap-filler. We want someone who plans to stick around.

You Probably Aren't the Fit If
  • You need direction to know what to do each day. This role runs on initiative.
  • You're looking for something short-term. We're building a working relationship, not filling a slot.
  • Busy offices with people coming and going feel draining to you.

Compensation
$30/hour. This role requires a minimum of 10 hours per week, spread across at least 3 days. Schedule is flexible within those hours, but the 10-hour minimum is a firm commitment.
Why Pareto
The team here builds AI infrastructure for some of the most important labs in the industry. That work happens in this office, and it runs better when the space does too. If you want part-time work that's flexible, consistent, and genuinely useful, this is a good fit.
Apply even if you don't match every line above. We care more about reliability and ownership than about a résumé.
