LOCATION: American Games (504 34th Avenue Council Bluffs, IA)
SCHEDULE: MON-TH (2:00 PM - 12:00 AM)

What You'll Do

This full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment plays a critical role in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper.

The Cutter Operator is a key member of the Finishing Department, responsible for accurately cutting and preparing printed gaming products-such as pull-tab tickets and bingo paper-for final packaging and distribution. This full-time, hands-on role involves operating guillotine cutting machines, reading job specifications, performing quality checks, and ensuring that finished products meet exact standards.

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, the Cutter Operator must demonstrate mechanical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. This role is essential to maintaining production efficiency and delivering high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, punctual, detail-oriented individual with mechanical aptitude and a strong commitment to safety and quality. They work well independently and in teams, follow instructions precisely, and are motivated to maintain high production standards in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor guillotine cutting machines to precisely cut printed materials according to production specifications and customer requirements.
  • Carefully read and interpret detailed job tickets and packing instructions to ensure accuracy and compliance with packaging standards.
  • Perform regular quality control checks throughout the cutting and packing process to ensure product integrity, including alignment, size, and print quality.
  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues with cutting equipment and escalate complex problems to maintenance when needed to minimize downtime.
  • Accurately input production data into computer systems to track completed jobs, material usage, and output metrics.
  • Work closely with other production staff, press operators, and supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency and meet daily production goals.
  • Consistently adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, equipment lockout procedures, and clean work practices to prevent accidents.
  • Keep workstations clean and organized to promote efficiency and safety in the finishing department.
  • Assist in other finishing or production tasks as assigned, including assisting with packing, labeling, and materials handling during peak times or equipment downtime.
  • Other duties as required.

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2 to 3+ years of experience operating cutting machinery or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated mechanical proficiency and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and production documentation.
  • Competence in basic math, measurement, and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to operate computer proficiently.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
