THE POSITION
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Cutter Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining cutting machines. This role requires a professional who can work efficiently and accurately, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and maintain a machine to cut stacks of paper in preparation for binding, folding, stitching, or shipment to the customer.
  • Review job specifications to determine proper machine set up.
  • Measure paper sheets and enter cutting positions into the cutting computer.
  • Move stacks of paper sheets from one piece of equipment to another through the cutting process.
  • Operate a computer-controlled cutting machine.
  • Examine cut material for any quality issues or imperfections.
  • Wrap individual reams of finished product.
  • Record job information on load tags and time sheets.
  • Change cutting knives and lubricate cutter as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of recent dependable work experience.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 26-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently carry 21-25 lbs.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must have basic computer keyboard knowledge.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
