Have you ever worked with paper or enjoyed operating cutting machines in a climate-controlled facility? We are seeking motivated candidates for our Walbridge, OH plant, just minutes from Toledo, Ohio. A Paper Die Cut Machine Operator, or a Cutter is responsible for setting up and operating die-cutting machinery to produce high-quality paper products according to customer specifications and production schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of the paper die-cutting processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.

SHIFT AVAILABLE
3rd Shift: 10:30pm - 6:30am Mon - Fri + $1.00 Third Shift premium
Note that there will be some training on 1st shift for the first few weeks in this role (1st shift runs 6:30am - 2:30pm M-F)

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?
  • Set up and calibrate equipment to ensure precise cutting per order specifications.
  • Monitor the cutting process, adjusting settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Completes paperwork using basic math skills to ensure accuracy.
  • Drives a forklift to load and unload truckloads of large paper rolls, gaylords of recycled scrap material, and moving large paper roles into and out of inventory for production.
  • Operates baler operations, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Safely handle and dispose of bales, following established procedures for storage, transport, and recycling.
  • Completes paperwork at end of tasks.

SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS
  • Prior experience operating cutting machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confident in basic math and ruler skills.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS
  • Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8-12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.
  • Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
  • Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.
  • Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.
  • Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.
  • Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
