Job description

Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator is responsible for performing delivery of finished goods to and from production areas by use of forklift machine. Candidate will track and report forklift's conditions to appropriate personnel through regular inspection. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating with the Packing Line Lead on product flow between packaging and warehouse areas, as well as perform other related warehouse duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklift within authorized work areas.
  • Stage, inspect, label, and load outgoing finished goods.
  • Perform daily inspection of forklift to ensure its safety and operation; Report any findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations within the industry and the organization.
  • Organize and document warehouse contents; Maintain count of products pulled from production line.
  • Ensure timely completion and processing of all paperwork and forward as needed.
  • Occasionally print bills of lading for outgoing goods.
  • Help maintain facility/ work area housekeeping.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience operating a forklift.
  • Good working knowledge of DOT and OSHA laws/ regulations related to this line of work and possess a high regard for safety and integrity.
  • Ideally, candidate's driving record should be blemish-free.
  • Candidate with a service-oriented, "Can-do" attitude is a plus !
  • CDL is a plus, but not required
  • High School Diploma/ GED required

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to physically lift and carry approximately 50-100 for short distances
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (12 hours minimum)
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental temperatures
  • Ability to work overtime and occasionally do so on short notice
