Job description

Own the Night: Drive Safety, Quality, and Throughput

As the weekend-night operations supervisor for automotive coatings in our Cleveland, OH plant, you’ll lead people, processes, and equipment to deliver to exacting specifications and tight timelines. You’ll report to the Production Superintendent and serve as the point leader for a disciplined, high-performing shift.

Schedule

Weekend Nights: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 pm–5:00 am. Occasional overtime and additional weekend support as needed.

Key outcomes
  • Production execution: Coordinate batching, mixing, filling, and packaging to meet plan and customer delivery dates.
  • People leadership: Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate operators and support staff; address performance and conduct issues.
  • Resource optimization: Balance equipment utilization, labor, and material to maximize output; minimize downtime.
  • Cross-shift continuity: Align with first- and night-shift leaders for quality handoffs and clear communication.
  • Equipment reliability: Ensure safe operation of mixers, pumps, and filling lines; partner with Maintenance on PM and rapid repairs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, shift reports, KPIs, and audit-ready regulatory documentation.
  • Standards and accountability: Direct a union hourly workforce and enforce safety, quality, and throughput processes.
  • Problem solving: Collaborate with Quality, EHS, and site teams to remove barriers and improve utilization of people, materials, and equipment.
  • Administrative excellence: Complete payroll accurately and on time for assigned team members.
Qualifications
  • Strong production leadership with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Fluency in Lean/CI and 5S principles.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements for safe and compliant operations.
  • Analytical aptitude with sound operational judgment.
  • Clear, concise communication and effective problem resolution.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; a matching 401(k) and retirement savings; paid vacation; and holiday pay.
