Job description

Job Summary

Our Packaging Associate is responsible for packaging and overseeing a range of products as

they complete their travel through the line. The Packaging Associate is responsible for quality

control, staging cardboard, keeping up with overflow, stacking trays, loading pallets and slip

sheets, monitoring tray count, placing labels, lot number tracking and helping with duties

related to keeping the line running smoothly. Crown Bakeries’ Mission, Vision, and Values are

the key ingredients to success!

Responsibilities:

Under supervision and using established procedures, ensures that the product is loaded

into the trays or cases properly to prevent damage.

Maintain hourly production targets.

Train, develop, and motivate team members on job performance, quality expectations,

and standardized work.

Oversee product quality and ensure product being produced in compliance with

customer specifications.

Adheres to production schedules, ensures production orders are met for finished goods

inventories, minimizing waste to ensure conformance to safety and quality standards.

Removes all out-of-spec product from the line and notifies Production Supervisor of all

non-conforming product or processes on the line.

Maintain high rates of production as set by the Packaging Lead and Production

Supervisor.

Ensure a safe operation, complying with the corporate accident prevention program,

and following safe work practices.

Work in unison and assist fellow team members.

Verify that all bags are in specification (no missing product, correct code date).

Assist the Packaging Lead in line startups and changeovers.

Keep entire area clean at all times.

Performs other related responsibilities, as needed or directed by Production Supervisor

and Manager, to support Crown Bakeries’ business objectives.

Maintains regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adhere to all

safety policies and procedures.


Attends Monthly required safety meetings when applicable.

Plan, problem solve, foster healthy peer relations, and motivate others.

Food Safety Responsibilities:

Follow all GMP's, Food Defense and quality policies.

Ensures compliance with all GMP, food hygiene and safety standards.

Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product

contamination, metal detector, screen or magnet deviancies', glass breakage, and pest

harborage.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Quick and controlled hand-eye coordination.

Able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be flexible with schedule, including start times and weekend work.

Willing to acquire a wide variety of skills to assist the surrounding team and fully

understand the processes.

Able to problem solve, learn on the fly, process and technical learning, and quality

decision.

Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.

Physical Demands:

Work in a noisy environment for length of shift.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up

to 50 pounds.

Reach above shoulder height.

Able to bend, twist, stand, climb stairs/ladders, push/pull, and walk for the length of

shift.
