Job description

**Job Title: Packaging Associate I, 2nd

Shift (X3)**

Pay Rate: $18/hr. + $1.25 shift differential

Location: East Providence, RI 02914

Duration: Temp to Perm

Shift: 2nd

Shift M-F 3pm-11:30pm

**Job Summary:

**

Under general supervision, inspects, assembles, and packages consumable accessories into designated bags and boxes utilizing counting scales, box taping machines, labeling machines and other specialized jigs, packaging, and auto-bagging equipment.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

**

  • Supports Journey to Zero vision by working safely and preventing incidents through submission of safety observations.
  • Packages materials according to pre-set instructions (API and BOM) with established quality and time standards.
  • Responsible for performing quality checks on raw parts and packages and removing any defective items.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping practices and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Records accurate data.
  • Contributes to success of team by submitting improvement ideas, identifying potential problems, providing feedback on new methods or method changes and by displaying a positive, cooperative attitude in working with orders.
  • Move products from packaging area into warehouse.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on Packaging equipment.
  • Individuals must be willing to cross trains in other areas and perform in those areas when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Education & Experience Requirements:

**

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required

**Skills & Abilities:

**

  • Minimal mechanical capability & basic computer skills required
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational and motivational skills; Excellent customer service, verbal/written communication skills, and the passion to deliver excellence are essential.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety
