Parts Specialist - Marine
Location: Kent, WA
Pay Range: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour (based on experience)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Travel: up to 25%

About the Role
MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a Parts Specialist to join our Marine Parts Department. This is a dynamic role where your mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, and customer-first approach will help us deliver exceptional service.
The ideal candidate is driven to master technical details, thrives on accuracy, and enjoys working in a structured environment where expertise is valued. You will bring a meticulous eye for detail, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to stay focused in the face of shifting priorities. This position is well-suited for someone who gains energy from learning, analyzing data, and developing deep product knowledge while excelling in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability and persistence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers via walk-ins, phone calls, and email inquiries.
  • Research and identify parts using electronic and paper catalogs, providing accurate estimates and availability information.
  • Enter orders into internal and external systems once verified.
  • Provide parts recommendations based on technical knowledge and customer needs.
  • Collect and process detailed customer order information, including payments.
  • Support the Service Department with product pricing and availability requests.
  • Monitor backorders daily to ensure prompt receipt and delivery.
  • Conduct research for purchase order discrepancies, past due items, and suggest corrections.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support after-hours needs.
  • Attend training and actively seek opportunities to grow your skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in parts, diesel, marine, heavy equipment, or related technical environments.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (in-person, phone, and email).
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and online vendor/order systems.
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to be part of an on-call rotation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of marine, power generation and/or industrial diesel engines.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, and other basic figures.
