Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience
Sign-on Bonus: $2,500
Travel: Local and overnight travel required for customer field service support, domestic and potentially international

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to ensure our marine diesel engine remanufacturing, overhaul, repair, and testing services consistently meet customer expectations, OEM specifications, and industry quality standards.


This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality throughout the repair process by performing inspections, verifying workmanship, ensuring documentation accuracy, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Control Specialist will split time between our Fort Lauderdale workshop and customer job sites, working closely with technicians and operations teams to deliver best-in-class service.

What You'll DoQuality Inspections & Compliance
  • Perform incoming material and pack-out inspections.
  • Conduct in-process inspections throughout engine overhaul and repair activities.
  • Verify workmanship meets company, customer, and OEM quality standards.
  • Ensure technicians follow established repair processes and procedures.
  • Confirm all required quality documentation is complete and accurate.
Quality Control & Testing
  • Execute inspection plans, including quality hold points and acceptance criteria.
  • Review test results and support final quality release.
  • Assist with functional testing, acceptance testing, startup readiness reviews, and final inspections.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with customer and OEM requirements.
Documentation & Traceability
  • Complete detailed inspection reports.
  • Collect and maintain quality records.
  • Ensure proper traceability of components and repair activities.
  • Maintain inspection evidence and quality documentation.
Calibration & Continuous Improvement
  • Verify calibrated tools and measurement equipment are being used.
  • Support calibration audits and measurement control activities.
  • Assist with impact studies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and operational performance.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, repair, assembly, inspection, marine, industrial, diesel engine, or related mechanical environments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to evaluate workmanship and identify quality concerns.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diesel engine repair, overhaul, or maintenance experience.
  • Previous quality inspection or quality control experience.
  • Experience working within an ISO Quality Management System.
  • Military maintenance or repair experience.
