Position Summary:
The Receiver is responsible for accepting, inspecting, and organizing all incoming deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies. This role ensures that products meet quality standards, match purchase orders, and are properly stored to support safe and efficient kitchen and restaurant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and damage.
  • Verify deliveries against invoices or purchase orders, noting any discrepancies.
  • Properly label and date all products according to food safety guidelines (FIFO).
  • Store items in designated areas (refrigerated, frozen, dry storage) promptly and safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, including walk-ins and dry goods.
  • Communicate with chefs, kitchen managers, and vendors regarding any issues with deliveries.
  • Assist with inventory counts and help monitor stock levels to prevent overstock or shortages.
  • Ensure proper handling of all perishable and non-perishable items according to health and safety regulations.
  • Dispose of damaged or spoiled items according to company policies.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or dollies to move and store heavy deliveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in receiving, inventory, or stockroom experience, ideally in a restaurant or foodservice setting is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, storage procedures, and inventory control.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold or confined storage environments.


Work Environment:

  • Back-of-house restaurant setting, with regular lifting, bending, and moving.
  • Schedule may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays depending on delivery times.
