Job Overview

Shriners Children's Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries. 

We have an opportunity for a part time, Pediatric RN, Surgical Services to join our team!

This position enjoys a quality work-life balance with a 2/10 dayshift schedule.

Responsibilities
  • The RN provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the Operating Room, and performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.  
  • The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.

  • The RN will function within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN.

  • The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.

  • The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.

Qualifications
  • RN license in state of practice
  • BLS
  • PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment as required by hospital

Preferred:

  • BSN 
  • 2+ years acute care experience
  • Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery and laser experience a plus
