Job Summary:
Outrider is a software company that is automating distribution yards with electric, self-driving trucks. The Manager, Cloud and Data will lead the Cloud and Data team, architecting and maintaining scalable data infrastructure for the company's autonomous truck fleet.
Responsibilities:
• Mentor team members
• Architect, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure
• Manage the day-to-day of team members
• Support long term planning, scheduling and budgeting
• Support hiring, mentoring and team growth
• Contribute generally to the growth and success of the Company and the building of a vibrant culture focused on the responsible deployment of zero-emission autonomous vehicle technology.
• Effectively partner with others in the organization with thoughtfulness and empathy
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ years of technical experience in data engineering, including expertise with SQL, Python, distributed processing (e.g., Spark/PySpark), ETL/ELT, and cloud services (AWS/GCP)
• 2+ years of team management experience, including hiring, mentoring, and retaining high-impact, diverse teams
• Experience evaluating and integrating external services and software
• Experience leveraging agentic AI for team and organizational success
Preferred:
• Experience with IoT and related technologies
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Streamlit, AWS Batch, and streaming data tools (e.g., Kafka/Flink), modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake/Athena(Trino)), and Kubernetes (k8)
