Serving as an RN is a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health.

This hospital has 9 OR suites, 4 Endoscopy suites, 34 Pre-op bays and 11 PACU bays. Each phase of the surgical process builds a trusting relationship to ensure all patients receive high quality patient centered care. The Surgical Services Department is a Certified level 3 Trauma Center. Surgical service lines include Cardiovascular, Neuro, General, GI, Ortho, ENT, GYN, and Urology.

RN job details:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Process endoscopy scopes
  • Follow infection control and standard precautions
  • Collaborates with the physician or manager to determine needs of patients
  • Completes the routine physical assessment using common assessment skills in a systematic manner.
  • Contributes to plan of care for pre-defined patient problems.
  • Respects patients' rights, including the right to inform, privacy, confidentiality, and the right to refuse care.
  • Assists with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence.
  • Follows company policies and procedures and department protocols.
  • Assists the physician with special procedures.
  • Lift 50 pounds or less frequently due to patient positioning, lift 100 pounds or less occasionally due to patient positioning.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN program
  • Must have Indiana RN license
  • Previous RN experience preferred 
  • Endoscopy experience preferred

License/Certification:

  • BLS, ACLS certification
  • IN RN license
