Job description

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Temporary Outage Support Worker located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska.  Position closes August 5, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. 

Position Summary

This position will support various outage activities in the CNS warehouse.   Responsible for performing an array of duties in a Warehouse setting, such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other assigned duties. 

Education, Training and Experience

High School Diploma/GED and previous support of 5 Cooper Nuclear Station refueling outages in the Warehouse.

Licenses and/or Certifications
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain control of and accurately release all classifications of warehoused nuclear material and spare parts.

Unload and load freight shipments and/or deliveries.

Tag material accurately for proper nuclear safety classification of essential and non-essential.

Responsible for accurate verification of physical inventory.

Receive and validate materials for accuracy and ensure the quality of materials, parts and components.

Housekeeping and general maintenance of warehouse and equipment, including use of mop/broom/vacuum, etc.

Store nuclear material and spare parts by size, quantity, safety classification, and system for long- or short-term storage in the appropriate environments.

Perform in-storage maintenance as required.

Operate essential equipment required to perform the responsibilities of the position. Truck, Cushman, Forklift, Hand Carts, Computer, etc.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 99 Hourly

Travel Required:   Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
