Job description

Job Description

The Division of Roadway Repair and Maintenance is recruiting a Community Coordinator to work in the Arterial Maintenance Unit, whose primary responsibility will be to manage and execute a contract to maintain landscaped roadway medians throughout the City. Tasks to be performed include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage all aspects of median landscape maintenance program including budget, contractor schedule and work assignment, inspection and evaluation of contractor reports and recommendations;
Supervise horticulture inspectors; Maintain program records and database. Prepare written reports in narrative and statistical form, based on research and analysis, in order to provide a synopsis of results and recommendations; Interpret policies, procedures, regulations, contract provisions, and legal principles to provide requested/required information for oversight agencies and stakeholders; Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
