Position Overview
The Director, Organized Customer Marketing will drive portfolio growth by identifying, evaluating, and developing new market opportunities, commercial channels, and strategic partnerships while leading market assessments, customer research, pilot programs, and commercialization strategies to expand the business. This leader will define and execute an integrated customer engagement strategy across personal, digital, and omnichannel touchpoints, ensuring a seamless and differentiated experience for organized customer segments. Serving as the enterprise brand leader, the Director will partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Product Management, R&D, Clinical Affairs, and executive leadership to shape portfolio strategy, commercial plans, launch readiness efforts, and evidence communication initiatives. The role will also be responsible for measuring and optimizing commercial effectiveness through customer insights, market intelligence, and performance analytics to enhance marketing impact and business performance. In addition, the Director will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Organized Customer Marketing team, establishing the capabilities, processes, and culture required to deliver enterprise marketing excellence and support the continued growth of the Abbott Cancer Diagnostics portfolio.

This role is located in Madison, WI.

Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with leadership and the broader marketing team to develop the strategy for the portfolio marketing to leaders in C- and D-suite levels at targeted health system accounts.
  • Work with leadership to identify and build marketing strategy around emerging organized customers, and lead a team of downstream marketers focused on emerging opportunities for the portfolio.
  • Lead a team of marketers to oversee the development and execution of personal promotion tactics/resources/assets.
  • Lead the development of digital marketing and communications strategies to support the portfolio business.
  • Lead tactical planning for portfolio promotion to health systems leaders, ensuring the commercial strategies, product positioning, and messaging are effectively integrated into the digital and personal promotional tactics and assets.
  • Develop, track, analyze, and communicate performance metrics to determine the efficacy of health system initiatives.
  • Vet new vendor capabilities to ensure their ability to deliver the marketing needs within the ecosystem.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of various external agency partners and manage the budget.
  • Lead material review committee meetings for approval of promotional assets.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize strategies, initiatives, and workload proactively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Collaborate as a leader across Abbott Cancer Diagnostics' Marketing and establish effective ways of working with cross-functional business partners.
  • Lead a diverse team of director and manager level talent, including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Consistent demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities, including but not limited to the ability to attract and retain the best team, foster a culture of high performance, lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and courage, and set a clear vision to energize teams towards the future.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree business administration or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 12+ years of Marketing experience.
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience, including hiring, coaching and developing talent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and significant cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Ability to develop a strategy through expert understanding of market and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree business administration or field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • Experience with Veeva CRM platform.
  • Experience with a Digital Experience System (Sitecore or Adobe Experience Manager preferred).
  • Diagnostic/device/pharmaceutical marketing, sales, and/or healthcare marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and influence senior leadership (VP level).

The base pay for this position is

$149,300.00 - $298,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
