Position Purpose
The Organizational Effectiveness Consultant serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders, HR leadership, and business stakeholders to diagnose organizational challenges and drive sustainable improvements in performance, engagement, and culture. Using a consulting mindset and a systems-thinking approach, this role assesses organizational needs, designs and deploys enterprise and local solutions, and influences leaders to adopt evidence-based practices that strengthen team effectiveness and organizational capability.
The Consultant partners closely with Regional HR Vice Presidents (RHRVPs), HR Directors (HRDs), and other enterprise leaders to guide strategy alignment, facilitate high-impact team interventions, and support change efforts that enable business objectives. This role emphasizes influence without authority, strategic insight, data-driven recommendations, and facilitation at the senior leadership level to improve outcomes across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Acts as a trusted organizational effectiveness consultant to senior leaders, RHRVPs, HRDs, and executives, providing insight, challenge, and recommendations grounded in organizational development (OD) and change management best practices.
  • Diagnoses organizational and team effectiveness issues using qualitative and quantitative data, including engagement results, focus group findings, and operational insights.
  • Leads or supports organizational change and design initiatives from design through implementation, evaluation, and sustainability.
  • Provides consultative guidance to HR, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and other enterprise partners to shape and execute strategic initiatives such as performance management, talent calibration, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Leads the design, governance, administration, analysis, and executive level reporting of employee listening processes, including engagement, onboarding, and exit surveys.
  • Prepares clear, compelling insights and reports for senior leadership that highlight trends, root causes, risks, and organizational impact.
  • Designs customized facilitation guides and interventions aligned to engagement data, organizational context, and specific employee populations.
  • Facilitates senior leadership team sessions, focus groups, and strategy alignment discussions, ensuring psychological safety and productive dialogue.
  • Debriefs senior leadership teams on research findings and consults on practical, sustainable actions to improve performance, engagement, and culture.
  • Translates data into actionable recommendations and advises leaders on prioritization and execution of action plans.
  • Builds strong internal networks and partnerships; influences stakeholders through credibility, data, and sound judgment.
  • Manages projects to completion on time and within budget, ensuring quality outcomes and measurable impact.
  • Monitors adoption and effectiveness of programs and provides feedback to HR Strategy & OD leadership to support continuous improvement.
  • Supports leaders in building high-performing, cohesive teams by clarifying purpose, goals, roles, and operating norms.
  • This position must sit at out Home Office in Birmingham AL

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, I/O Psychology, Instructional Design, or other field; Master's preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in organizational development, change management, or human resources consulting.
  • At least 1 year in HR, talent, or organizational development role serving as an advisor to leaders
  • Experience with facilitating teams to drive high performance.
  • Experience with talent assessment and advanced psychometric assessment tools, such as, MBTI, Birkman, DiSC, Hogan, etc. preferred.
  • Healthcare experience a plus
