Task Order Manager

LOCATION: Albuquerque, New Mexico US (On-Site)

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: DoD Secret clearance

CERTIFICATION: PMP or equivalent preferred

TRAVEL: <10%

Astrion is seeking a Task Order Manager to support satellite development and integration programs at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate. The overall contract focuses on space vehicles and ground systems for the Air Force and Space Force. The Task Order Manager will have ownership over all non-technical aspects of contract task order administration, including but not limited to customer engagement, financial management, CDRL delivery, security, and procurement. This role is ideal for someone who is highly proactive and independent with customer engagement and cross-functional project management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • U.S. Citizenship required 
  • DoD Secret clearance w/ TS/SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience supporting DoD or government programs
  • 2+ years of experience in a program/project management role
  • Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong independent problem solver
  • Ability to prioritize and complete a large number of complex tasks independently
  • Strong sense of ownership for area of responsibility and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver results
  • Willingness to adapt to whatever tasking is needed to deliver results for Task Order
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in an engineering management or technical leadership role
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Excellent accounting skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, macros, etc.)
  • Prior exposure to AFRL or Space Force technical initiatives

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report to the Contract Program Manager and work with the Contract Management Team, which includes other Task Order Managers and financial, procurement, and security professionals.
  • Perform contract task order management activities related to budget and finance, subcontracts, procurement, recruiting, technical milestone management, documentation and file management, and scheduling.
  • Support the technical leads with non-technical tasks and activities.
  • Provide administrative business support, including but not limited to meeting coordination, employee engagement, team building, and visitor control for Kirtland AFB.
  • Use independent judgement to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload in a high-pace and detail-oriented environment.
  • Track documents through several processes, including but not limited to, contracting, purchasing, proposals, and agreements to completion.
  • Facilitate regular communications with AFRL customers, engineering teams, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely submission of technical deliverables and project reports.
  • Support or perform supervisory duties as needed such as new employee onboarding.
