Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
What the Role Is: In the Customer Operations organization, an Order Management Specialist role is integral in ensuring that the company provides the highest quality of support to its customers. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, a detail-oriented problem solver, process-oriented, and driven to achieve customer outcomes. They will demonstrate proficiency in navigating intricate environments and live our organizational ethos and values. Ideal candidates will possess a natural drive to leverage the many growth opportunities available within the organization.
Who We're Looking For: In addition to the aforementioned skills and qualifications, we are also looking for an order management specialist who is personable with excellent interpersonal skills. This means that the candidate should be able to build positive relationships with clients, and provide exceptional customer service. They should be patient and empathetic when dealing with customer inquiries or concerns. A personable order management specialist will be able to effectively communicate with customers, address their needs, and provide a positive experience throughout the order process. This personal touch is essential in creating long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.
What You Need-Required Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or 3+ years of Customer Service experience.

What You'll Need-Required Skills and Capabilities:
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role with minimum 3 years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven critical and analytical thinking as well as excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and professionalism.

What We'd Like You to Have: Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in using customer management software and other computer systems, including Salesforce.
  • SAP knowledge desired.
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role in the manufacturing industry

What You'll Do-Your Responsibilities:
  • Order Processing: The representative will be responsible for receiving and processing customer orders. They must ensure the accuracy of order information such as item details, quantities, pricing, and delivery information.
  • Customer Service: They will serve as a point of contact for customers regarding order inquiries. They need to provide excellent customer service, answer questions, address concerns, and resolve any issues related to orders in a timely manner.
  • Data Management: The representative should accurately input and update customer and order information in the company's order management system.
  • Compliance: The representative should ensure all order processes comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Problem-solving: They should have the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during the order process.
  • Product Knowledge: The representative should have a general understanding of the company's products or services.
  • Documentation: They should maintain proper documentation of all orders, customer interactions, and related transactions.
  • Teamwork: As an Order Management Specialist, they should work effectively in a team setting, coordinating with other departments and team members to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth business operations.

The range for this position is $47,058.00 - $64,706.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
