Job description

Senior Etl/Database Developer

Sacramento, CA (Hybrid, Two days a week in office required)

Long-term Contract

Requirements:

  • Senior hands-on ETL/Database Developer with strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented ability to independently extract, transform, and load a Oracle ADW data warehouse environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements for a Data Warehouse.
  • Candidate needs to be able to demonstrate, direct hands-on recent practical experience in the areas identified with specific examples.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs ETL and database development activities for the Enterprise Data Warehouse in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Environment
  • Reviews existing architecture and provides solution recommendations where applicable
  • Develops, tests, and implements scripts/jobs for data Extract Transform and Load (ETL) from data source(s) to target(s) in the data warehouse using ODI
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using Oracle tools and technologies
  • Create and maintain data pipelines to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business rules, and load it into Oracle data warehouses
  • Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement appropriate solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues and performance bottlenecks
  • Document ETL processes, data mappings, and data lineage
  • Implement data quality checks and validation procedures
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in ETL development
  • Hands-on experience working with and managing Oracle's Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) service
  • Develops physical data model and/or works with data modeler to develop physical data model
  • Develops Testing Approach, Plan, Scripts and Documentation of Results
  • Participates in developing Requirements Specifications
  • Participates in developing Design Specifications
  • Monitors the EDW and responds to incidents
  • Provides documentation to support the Kimball Dimensional Data Modeling Framework
  • Mentors and educates team members on best practices and industry standards

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Staff resource must have a minimum of seven (7) years of verifiable experience in database design, development, and warehouse architecture supportive of key duties/responsibilities identified above in an Oracle environment
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the last 6 years performing ETL development activities in a Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse in a Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Environment.
  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience performing development in Oracle data warehouses within the last 10 years
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical stakeholders and team members.
  • Proficient with various Oracle tools used to perform ETL, performance management, and tuning for an Oracle Data Warehouse and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and SQL
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or Oracle GoldenGate
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and perform Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) activities using Oracle tools with at least 5 years ETL experience.

  • Certified on Oracle Cloud infrastructure 2021 certified architect professional

  • Ability to perform technical leadership of an Oracle data warehouse team including but not limited to data modeling, requirements solicitation, DBA, data warehouse administration, and data analysis on a hands-on basis.
