Opus Packaging - West Michigan is a premier packaging company and supplier of corrugated products. Our philosophy and values are the backbone of Opus, but it’s our employees who bring them to life. We are currently searching for a 1st shift Maintenance Tech for our Caledonia, MI location. 1st shift runs 6am 2pm Monday through Friday. About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled 1st shift Maintenance Technician to join our team at Opus Packaging in Caledonia, MI. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. Your primary goal will be to minimize downtime and maximize productivity by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and identifying potential issues before they become major problems. You will work closely with our production team to ensure that all equipment is running at peak performance, and you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in industrial maintenance or related field
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience with welding and fabrication
  • Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • Identify potential issues before they become major problems and take corrective action
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety procedures and regulations

Skills:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will use your strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will also use your problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify potential issues before they become major problems. In addition, you will need to be able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and have experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, welding and fabrication, and pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems. Your ability to work closely with our production team and maintain a safe and clean work environment will be critical to your success in this role.
