Job description

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.  

Positive Options is the behavioral health division of Community Options, Inc. Positive Options is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician in Chattanooga, TN. Registered behavior technicians work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach the critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life.

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized behavior interventions in multiple settings. If you are passionate about helping others and looking for a rewarding career, Positive Options provides all required training needed to become an RBT for those new to the field.

$20-$22/ hr based on experience 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children, adolescents, and adults using evidence-based practices that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports.
  • Model and implement behavior support strategies specified in the behavior support plan.
  • Provide family and caregiver training under the direction of supervising clinicians.
  • Collect data and complete session notes using ABA software
  • Work cooperatively with supervising BCBAs and treatment team members to ensure ethical and high-quality service delivery
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and treatment team to guide and improve treatment planning
  • Attend staff trainings, group supervision, and individual supervision meetings
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certificate, or willingness to enroll and complete 40-hour RBT training and certification exam (All associated fees are paid)
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to implement behavior plans independently and confidently
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants and their families, caregivers, school staff, and related service providers
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Ability to collect data and complete session notes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disability, autism, or other developmental disabilities preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to squat, bend, and lift 40 pounds as needed for therapy services
