American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Nashville, Tennessee.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU (TICU) night shift position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active TN or compact RN license.

Details
  • Located in Nashville, TN at an acute care hospital
  • 20-bed Trauma Critical Care Unit (TICU)
  • Patient ratios of 2:1, with 1:1 depending on acuity
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Minimum of 4 weekend shifts required per schedule period
  • Schedules are done in 4-week increments with self-scheduling options; manager may adjust shifts to balance the schedule
  • Equipment used includes ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000, and traction
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Travelers are first to float; if staffing needs arise in med/surg, travelers are expected to float and accept the assignment
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active RN license — TN state license or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
  • NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU RNs
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
  • Trauma experience is preferred
  • Procedures performed on the unit include insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and EVDs
  • Occasional nurse extern may be present on the unit working in a tech capacity
  • Navy scrub tops and bottoms required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
  • Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
