Compensation 

This position is hourly, and the starting pay rate is $22.50/hour, and eligibility for an incentive target of $1,200 which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives. 

The pay range above is not a guarantee of compensation but reflects the potential total compensation for this role at the time of this posting based on the assigned job grade.  Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as geographic work location, relevant experience and individual skills.  The stated range is a reasonable estimate and may change over time; final compensation may fall above or below the range provided.  Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or discontinue its compensation and benefits programs at any time, in accordance with applicable law.

Position Summary: 

Great fit for retail pros who want steady hours, zero weekends, and a supportive, customerfocused environment.

As a Customer Service Representative, you'll provide exceptional customer service by phone and email in an inbound call center office environment and will report to a Customer Service Center Supervisor. Our team members are expected to be active participants in a workplace that promotes accountability, coaching, and teamwork to achieve the goals of our business, team members, and customers with high efficiency. Join us at 11708 167 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T5M 3Y2 

You will be scheduled to work an 8-hour shift between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM MST, Monday to Friday. Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift within these operating hours. While shift preferences may be considered in the future through the shift bidding process, flexibility in scheduling is not available at hire. There are no evening or weekend shifts. Following the 8-week training period, employees become eligible to work remotely on Fridays. After six months of tenure, a second remote workday is added, resulting in a hybrid schedule of three days onsite and two days remote. The position begins on October 5, 2026.

Job Responsibilities (You Will): 

  • Deliver a positive customer experience through order entry, order follow-up, shipment tracking, updating orders, account corrections, credits, returns, and more 

  • Listen to customer needs, ask exploratory questions, and interpret customer requirements to provide solutions 

  • Combine service, sales, and technical system skills with product knowledge, to uncover customer needs and provide solutions 

  • Seize opportunities to promote the benefits of doing business with Grainger and provide solutions with product alternatives and services 

  • Identify leads for further selling opportunities to improve sales growth 

  • Analyze information to resolve inquiries and complex problems 

  • Respond to customer calls and inquiries (i.e., pricing, products and billing, received through the phone or by email) 

  • Communicate with customers and business partners to inform them of the status of their request through to completion 

Education/Experience (You Have): 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Excellent communication skills in English 

  • 1+ years of demonstrated success in a customer service role with a preference within a contact center environment 

  • Proficient and accurate typing, data entry 

  • Advanced system knowledge and comfortable navigating systems (Microsoft Office Suite and background in enterprise systems i.e.: SAP, Oracle, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, etc.). 

  • Bilingual (ENG/FR) an asset (not required)
