As an Energy Optimisation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing energy specific projects on our pumping assets and water distribution systems. You will be managing projects through the identification and development of our energy specific projects in particular delivering our pumping efficiency programme. The Energy Optimisation Engineer will also lead on the design and delivery, stakeholder management, milestone management and financial management.

The role requires a good level of general water engineering knowledge with a specialism in energy efficiency, preferably with a technical or project engineering discipline. Through expert analysis of our water system, you will consider opportunities and projects to reduce our energy consumption in the water treatment process and associated assets, for example pumps and motors.

Using technical and process experience, you will provide support to the Water Optimisation Team and Water Business Stream in relation to the reduction of operating costs of the water system. The role will enable integration and collaboration across the various Water Sub-Business streams and wider key stakeholder areas.

The role will support embedding of new technologies and solutions to facilitate the efficient operation of our system.

What does it take to be an Energy Optimisation Engineer?

You will have strong technical knowledge and this combined with your previous experience in the delivery of energy optimisationprojects. You will have a proven track record in identifying and delivering projects that have involved hydraulics and pumping efficiencies. Your proven financial management skills and ability to control a project budget are essential to this role.
