About the Role:

Essential Eyecare & Optical in Longwood, FL is looking for a friendly and organized Optical Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator to be the welcoming face of our practice. In this role, you'll play a vital part in delivering an exceptional patient experience from the moment they walk through our doors. If you're passionate about eye care and love helping people, we'd love to meet you!

Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional front desk experience

Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using optical practice management software

Verify vision and medical insurance eligibility and process billing and co-pays

Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic and insurance information

Coordinate patient flow between the front desk, pre-testing, and the doctor

Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and follow up with patients regarding orders and appointments

Assist patients with frame and lens selections and support optical dispensing staff as needed

Assist doctor with pretesting patients as needed

Requirements:

Prior experience in an optical, medical, or healthcare front desk or receptionist role preferred

Familiarity with vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, etc.) is a plus

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude

Proficiency with scheduling software, EHR systems, and basic computer applications

Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment

Detail-oriented with accurate data entry and record-keeping skills

Positive, team-oriented demeanor and professional appearance
