Position Overview
Formation Operator assures correct acid level and conduct a visual inspection for cosmetic defects.
Areas of Focus
Formation Operator complies with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE. Additionally, Formation Operator understands & practices the Quality policy day to day.
Responsibilities
Level I
โ€ข Place caps onto batteries according to battery type
โ€ข Perform the proper function of stacking on / off from conveyors
โ€ข Identify all defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill)
โ€ข Analyze the correct direction of the batteries during off bearing. (Understand correct polarity of batteries)
โ€ข Identify the correct cable (jumpers) to be placed on specific types of batteries
โ€ข Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing
โ€ข Ensure correct marking on the battery rack to aid Circuit Tender
โ€ข Display correct use of PPE
โ€ข Perform general housekeeping
โ€ข Meets all quality requirements and standards
โ€ข Meets all production requirements
Basic Qualifications
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent
โ€ข 6 months - 1-year machine operator experience
โ€ข Stand-up Lift / Forklift Certification
โ€ข Basic computer skills
โ€ข Read and understand basic English
โ€ข Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
โ€ข Experience in an assembly/production environment
