Job description

River Crest Country Club is seeking a full time Equipment Operator I for our Grounds and Golf Course Maintenance Department. 

Located five miles from downtown Fort Worth, River Crest is Fort Worth’s oldest and most storied country club. 

River Crest offers an excellent Compensation & Benefits Package as well as a great work environment. The pay range for this position is $15 - $17 per hour based on verifiable experience. These benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment.

JOB SUMMARY 

The Equipment Operator is responsible for performing routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; perform semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate small hand-powered equipment; hand tools, backpack blowers, weed eaters, rakes, walking rotary and reel mowing equipment, riding mowers, tractors, and other motorized equipment as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • One year experience operating riding golf course mowing equipment, tractors, etc.
  • High school education or equivalent is required.
  • Must have driver license.
  • Must have some working knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscaped area construction/maintenance work. The ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, and ability to operate utility carts and light motorized equipment.
  • Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks and tolerating frequent interruptions. 
  • Must present a neat and clean personal appearance.
  • Must have timely, reliable attendance.
  • Must have a professional, courteous & respectful attitude toward members, guests, vendors, co-workers and supervisors.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / FUNCTIONS / TASKS

  • Performs work maintenance work on the golf course facilities to include:
    • Raking sand bunkers, operating hand trimmers, digging holes, and mowing all areas of the golf course.
    • Planting flowers, laying sod, and watering multiple areas of turf and or landscaping areas.
    • Operating edging equipment, utility vehicles, and hand tools on a regular basis.
    • Removing debris and cleaning flower beds.
    • Excavating and backfilling ditches and trenches with hand tools.
    • Operating riding mowers, loaders, top dressors, tractors, and all motorized equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to do repetitive tasks and be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperature conditions for a prolonged time.
