Job description

Equipment Associate

Pay: $24.00

Shift: 8-4pm

Location: Middleboro, MA 02346

Description:

     Perform a variety of manual tasks in the rental yard in support of the entire operation. The primary objective is to provide labor assistance to mechanics, sales staff, and other branch personnel in order to meet the needs of walk in customers looking to rent equipment.

Essential Duties of the Equipment Associate: (Rank in order of importance, starting with most important)

·       Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to branch

·       Perform minor repairs inside truck trailers when needed (wood planks).

·       Report machine condition to Counter Person/Service Manager for appropriate billing of customer at checkout.

·       Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in good working order when renting/returning.

·       Clean all equipment and maintain a clean work area.

·       Load and unload rental equipment, and prepare equipment for rental Checkout.

·       Demonstrate equipment for customers as well as drive a delivery truck to pick-up & drop-off equipment as needed.

·       Greet customers and assist with customer inquiries about tools, fees, usage.

Experience Other Skills Required of the Equipment Associate

·       Knowledge of winch operations

·       Ability to read and write English.

·       Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts.

·       Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation

·       Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.  to 50 lbs., and seldom lifting up to 75 lbs.

Working Conditions:

·       Exposure to bright light, extreme temperature, loud noise, dust, and gas.

·       Occasional working at heights above 10 ft.

·       Ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required.

·       Ability to bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of time

·       Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per day

·       Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day

·       Other duties assigned as needed.
