About the position:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for planning daily and weekly workloads to achieve branch objectives in sales, customer service, route delivery, inventory and volume control. The Operations Supervisor ensures staff achieve seamless processing of outgoing shipments and incoming items and is responsible to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position. The Operations Supervisor will operate a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods as required. The Operations Supervisor will provide high level customer service to clients and potential customers and will reach business targets through excellent telephone sales and communications skills. This role provides leadership to the Branch team in executing daily functions.


As a Canadian Energy team member, a typical week will include the following:
Customer Service.You'll strive to provide an exceptional experience for our customers at the front counter and by telephone. Improve value for the customer by offering new products and services or by consolidating their purchases.
Operations.Supervise branch operations i.e., inventory control, completing order fulfilment, entering date into the ERP.

Shipping and Receiving. Assist in all aspects of warehouse duties including labeling of product, preparation of shipping documentation, inventory counts and general cleanup/maintenance. Depending on business needs, this position may require loading and unloading trucks/trailers as well as putting away stock and picking orders.

Sales. Collaborate with the Branch Manager to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.

Problem Solving. Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues. Act as the primary contact for the branch team, ensure customer inquires are resolved in a courteous and professional manner.

Safety. Consistently uphold and promote all company culture, health and safety, security and operational policies and procedures. Proficient knowledge of safe material handling techniques.

Equipment.Safely operate power and manual lift equipment. This position will be required to drive a forklift at times.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm; with Saturday day shift 2x per month.


Location:This position is located in Lethbridge, AB.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility in management or supervisory role in warehouse, manufacturing or distribution.
  • Post secondary diploma or degree or experience in lieu of education.
  • Leadership and team building skills.
  • Working experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to weigh and measure items.
  • Working knowledge of safe packing and wrapping methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team.
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills, time management and ability prioritizing tasks.
