Job description

We're working with a well-established food manufacturing company, seeking an experienced Plant Director to lead the overall operations of its Lethbridge manufacturing facility. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, food safety, employee engagement, and financial performance while ensuring the highest standards of quality, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall leadership for plant operations, with accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and customer service.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, yield, labour efficiency, and operating costs.
  • Lead capital planning, budgeting, and plant improvement projects.
  • Foster a strong culture of food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement.
  • Develop and coach leadership teams while maintaining positive labour relations in a unionized environment.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and other corporate functions to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Food Science, Agriculture, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Significant manufacturing leadership experience in a unionized environment, preferably within food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods.
  • Demonstrated success leading large teams, managing budgets, and driving operational performance through continuous improvement.
