Position Overview
The 2nd Shift Supervisor (afternoon shift) is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations. This role ensures production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. The supervisor leads production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction..
Location: Penetanguishene, ON. This role requires the candidate to work out of the Manufacturing facility at 187 Robert St E, Penetanguishene, ON L9M 1G9.
Shift: Afternoon shift
Key Responsibilities
  • Follow and enforce all Health & Safety standards, hygiene and security in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and support production team members.
  • Supervise on shift Lead hand
  • Follow production schedules and ensure output meets the standards
  • Coach and evaluate production employees
  • Complete pre shift meetings for expectations and operational updates
  • Investigate and plan to resolve production, equipment issues and report to Manager
  • Prepare roll media for Tubers/set up orders for ringers
  • Complete quality first off inspections for each work centre
  • Completed final inspection on finished product from Flange Welders & Sewers
  • Close and label boxes and move to pre-shipping prep areas
  • Respond to pages and inquiries from welding, sewing and cutting department staff
  • Remove empty flange boxes and product bins from Flange Welder workstations
  • Identify Welding department operational requirements for specific Work Centre materials and/or tools and communicate these requests to the appropriate person
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and basic production reporting systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using ERP or manufacturing management systems preferred
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing corrective actions is considered an asset
