Job description

The Mission
You are the operating backbone of the People function at SalesRabbit. We are scaling fast and outgrowing the manual workflows that got us here - and we need a true generalist who can build the systems and own the execution simultaneously. In this role, you'll be responsible for the full spectrum of people operations across benefits, compliance, performance management, employee relations, and HR systems. You will build and improve scalable processes and deliver a seamless employee experience. You'll partner closely with leaders and employees and build the infrastructure for a People function that the business runs on - one our employees and leaders bring real questions to and get framed recommendations back.
We expect this role to bring an automation-first, AI-leveraged operating philosophy to our team. The best version of this seat spends its time on judgment, partnership, and infrastructure - not chasing manual approvals and administrative tasks an automated workflow can handle. You actively use AI, automation, and integrations to eliminate the admin layer of the job and reinvest that time in the work that truly moves the business: employee experience, manager support, compliance integrity, and operational scalability.
Who We Are
SalesRabbit is the operating system for field sales and roofing contractors. We replace the chaos of manual tracking with an end-to-end production-to-payment system that handles everything from the first website click to the final invoice. Our software combines online lead creation, field territory management, instant estimates, and a roofing-specific CRM.
With our headquarters in Lehi, Utah, a Rooflink office in Round Rock, Texas, and a growing team of over 100, we are building an AI-native product organization. We use automation to turn messy field data into clear operational leverage, giving business owners the visibility they need to scale and reps the tools they need to close deals faster.
What You'll Do
  • Own the HRIS as the system of record and the People data integrity. Drive HRIS optimization including data mapping and vendor relationships.
  • Design and run onboarding and offboarding workflows that make day-one feel intentional and exit-day feel respectful.
  • Own the People-side experience of benefits - new-hire enrollment guidance, employee questions, plan-design input from a People lens - and lead end-to-end coordination of leaves (parental, FMLA, LOA, ADA). Partner with Accounting on open enrollment and benefits administration.
  • Build and own the multi-state employment compliance calendar - FMLA, ADA, EEO, workers' comp, unemployment, and state employer registrations; partner with the Accounting team on ACA, benefits notices, and payroll-tax filings.
  • Support coaching, performance documentation, and conflict resolution; bring judgment, mitigate organizational risk, and protect the employee experience
  • Build scalable workflows, SOPs, and analytics across the People Ops stack - treat every recurring task as a system to be made better, faster, and more reliable
  • Proactively identify and execute automation opportunities - use AI assistants, integrations, and workflow tools to eliminate the admin layer and reinvest the time in judgment work
  • Operate performance review cycles end-to-end and provide People-side support on merit, comp, and total rewards execution.

What We Are Looking For
Required
  • 4+ years of progressive People Operations / HR generalist experience, with at least 2 years in a high-growth startup or scaling SaaS environment (roughly 50-500 people). This role is not a fit for candidates whose experience is anchored in large, structured, specialist-supported HR teams.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership across the People Ops stack: HRIS, onboarding and offboarding, multi-state employment compliance, employee relations, benefits employee experience, leave coordination, and performance management cycle operations
  • Hands-on, administrator-level experience with BambooHR, HiBob, Rippling, Gusto, Workday, or a comparable HRIS
  • Working knowledge of US employment law and multi-state employment compliance: FMLA, ADA, EEO, workers' comp, unemployment, and state employer registrations
  • Track record of building scalable workflows and process improvements that survive ambiguity, headcount growth, and turnover
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting framed decisions to senior leaders
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting M&A people integration (talent, benefits, payroll, systems)
  • Professional HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent)
  • Exposure to recruiting operations and compensation tools (e.g., Radford)
  • Hands-on payroll experience - this role does not own payroll operations, but fluency in how payroll consumes People data is valuable
Who Thrives Here
At SalesRabbit, we hire for operating cadence and mindset. The people who do best here share a few things in common:
  • Active Curiosity: You seek root causes before proposing solutions and stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and applied AI.
  • Grit & Scrappiness: You roll up your sleeves on hard, ambiguous, unglamorous work. You build from scratch and clean up inherited debt without waiting for a perfect brief.
  • Extreme Ownership: You take accountability for outcomes, proactively communicate blockers before they become problems, and deliver with minimal oversight.
  • Bias Toward Impact: You measure success by business outcome, not effort. You course-correct fast and without ego when you get it wrong.
  • Team-First Collaboration: You listen to understand, give credit generously, and push back when something is wrong - to protect the outcome, not to win the argument.

For this role, we are also looking for:
  • Workflow-First Systems Thinking: You build workflows that hold up under stress and scale.
  • Judgment Under Ambiguity: You make calls with incomplete information, communicate your reasoning crisply, and you bring framed recommendations with a point of view, instead of open-ended problems.
  • Leverage Through Automation & AI: You treat every recurring task as a candidate for automation. You actively use AI tools, integrations, and workflow design to eliminate manual work and reinvest time in higher-leverage judgment work.
Benefits
  • 20 days of PTO + 10 holidays
  • Medical, Vision, Dental, and Basic Life Insurance
  • 401(k) 100% matching up to 4% of salary
  • Company phone plan covering service for employee and spouse/child
