Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Product, the Senior Manager of Product Operations is responsible for leading Product Operations capabilities that improve product management effectiveness across the organization. This role establishes governance, standards, metrics, tooling, experimentation practices, and operational frameworks that enable data-informed decision making and continuous improvement. By increasing visibility into product health, product management quality, and organizational effectiveness, this role supports product teams in delivering measurable business and user outcomes. The role partners closely with Product, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and business leaders to operationalize product management standards and continuously improve Product Operations capabilities across the organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, develop, and inspire Product Operations team members while fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and product management best practices.
  • Coach Product Managers on success metrics and create product scorecards.
  • Partner with Product leadership to establish, measure, and continuously improve product management quality standards and operational practices.
    • Serve as a domain expert to enable decision-making through data and insights.
    • Foster an environment that enables cross-functional feedback to stakeholders and product teams.
    • Own governance, administration, and continuous improvement of Product Operations tooling, including Pendo and other platforms supporting product analytics, experimentation, user insights, and product management
    • Develop reporting and visibility frameworks that enable Product Managers and leaders to assess product health, product management effectiveness, and organizational
    • Partner with Product, UX, Analytics, and Engineering leaders to establish consistent practices for user insights, experimentation, and outcome measurement.
    • Drive continuous improvement of Product Operations processes, governance frameworks, communication standards, and operational rhythms.
    • Establish and maintain metrics, scorecards, and reporting frameworks that measure product management effectiveness, operational maturity, governance adherence, and organizational health.

Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of specific experience, including a minimum of 3 years leading a team.
  • Significant management knowledge to lead the department.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline, with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the University.
  • Minimum 7+ years of demonstrated experience as a Software Product Manager, Product Owner, Group Product Manager, or similar Product leadership role.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience with product analytics , experimentation, product operations, product governance, or product effectiveness measurement and metrics.
  • Experience establishing metrics, scorecards, governance practices, or operational standards within a product organization.

Department Specific Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or an equivalent combination of a bachelor's degree with training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of software Product Management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience with product analytics and metrics

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year).
